vacuum

does anybody know how much vacuum a 5.7 tpi should have? And what are the two hard black lines coming out of an electrical harness at the firewall on the drivers side (thinking HVAC) and how is that all hooked up which one goes to the heater control valve and which one goes to the plastic valve that attaches to the vacuum port on the back of the plenum? or is that right at all?

Re: vacuum

how much vacuum somewhat depends on your cam and your elevation, but you need at least 16, and stock could be as high as 21

Re: vacuum

it's a stock motor except that it is bored .040. i bought a remanufactured engine. would that change anything? Should I have more or less vacuum? I also have headers and a 3 inch exhaust. But it's not running well consistantly. Any body have any good pics of the correct vacuum setup for those lines coming out of the harness and that plastic valve by the map sensor.

Re: vacuum

Diagram sticker should be on hood. Just type "camaro vacuum diagram" in an image web search.
