Single piece rear main seal - stud

There is a stud that is part of the single piece rear main seal. I think that this is pressed in. The old block is cracked and I purchased a zz4 block. I am rebiulding the motor by using as many of the old parts as possible, transfering them from the old block to the ZZ4 block.

Is this one stud actually pressed in? To retreive the existing one from the cracked block should I put one or two nuts on it and pulled it out?

Its threaded. Ideally, you need a torx socket to get it off although I've used vise grips. They are usually in there pretty good as well, so if it breaks dont be surprised although I've never had one break they just always felt at the verge of doing so.

Vise-Grips are for welding, or holding a loose fender on your '67 F-100. If you want to back out a stud, use jamb nuts. When that fails, use these:

Regular water pump pliers won't work. You need ChanNelLock 410s.
