Edelbrock Performer intake???

Are all edelbrock performer intakes vortec compatable or just certain ones because a kid is selling one in school for 60 bucks cause hes just looking to get rid of it and doesnt realize thats its worth more. And i plan on using vortec heads in my motor build so i need to know if the intake is compatable. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Re: Edelbrock Performer intake???

It's either a regular Performer, or it's a Performer Vortec. They are not compatable.

Re: Edelbrock Performer intake???

The intake-to-head bolt holes are vertical.

Re: Edelbrock Performer intake???

Is that the only difference? or is the flow different? cause if thats the only difference i rather just take the heads to my machine shop and get them to redrill bolt holes cause it would cost less to do that rather than buying another intake. to drill out the holes it would only be 80 bucks

Re: Edelbrock Performer intake???

Vrtec intake ports are taller (and narrower) so you have a high probability of vacuum leaks at the top of each port regardless of what gaskets you try.
