no brake lights
I have an 89 TA now that has lost its brake lights. I purchased the car not long ago with a broken turn signal switch. It worked but was cracked and turned around the washer switch. This may be a cause of my problem, but I dont know for sure. I have checked my switch under the dash at the brake pedal and found it to be functional. I have been told that this problem will be in the switch now and I need a new turn signal switch. Can anyone help with this, please?

Re: no brake lights
Actually I did. Sorry I didnt respond sooner.
I found the wiring to the fuse panel was corroded and affected the fuse. I found more than one corroded fuse.
My car sat too long unused.
One of my fuses actually caused my stereo to be inoperable on one hot wire. It dropped voltage when it was connected to the source. I found the fuse to be very high resistance so I replaced it. This and some cleaner on the fuse panel and wiring cleaned it up.
I have since taken off my ground wires to the chassis and cleaned them up with a wire brush and given attention to the battery and fuse links. I cleaned up my third brake light contacts which I was not aware of the wire source. It was a clever design through the liftgate, too. But thanks for your time. Hit me back if you guys need help too.

Re: no brake lights
what do you mean it was the turn signal switch? I do not have my brake lights working and my turn signals do not work. The dimmer, wipers, and everything work except the brake lights and turn signals.

Re: no brake lights
Yeah, I have the same problem. My brake lights were working properly but today the tail lights and the high mount stopped working. I checked the bulbs, they are fine, checked the fuse, it's ok, and changed the stop light switch just for good measure, but no dice.
Any one have any other solutions, options?
Thx.
