2 questions: Neutral Safety Switch and VATS security light
1. on the neutral safety switch wires, which which wires should 'light up a test list'...aka 'hot' in the neutral safety switch harness?
2. When the key is inserted and the key is in the 'accessory' stage, the SECURITY LIGHT sometimes turns off after approx. 15 to 20 seconds. Sometimes it doesn't .. but I have never noticed the car to 'not start' after on. Its an issue I think is related to the Neutral Safety switch.
When the key goes from key to 'start' or should start the car, the brake light comes on and there is no click, no sound, no cylanoid engagement, nothing at all and once we release the key the brake light goes off.
ALSO, our button to open the rear hatch all of the sudden stopped working. when we push the rear hatch button the 'brake light' on the instrument panel comes on..... could this affect the NSS too??

There's a wiring diagram on http://www.austinthirdgen.com that shows how the hatch release switch is tied to the starter, I think you'll find the answer there, it sounds like the wire going to the CRK fuse and the hatch release switch from the solenoid is your problem, I kind of have the same problem, but no hatch switch.
