1991 GTA won't start
Hey guys need a little help here. I got caught in some traffic the other day and the car suddenly stalled out. The engine would catch after it cooled down. I got the car towed home and replaced the spark plugs, fuel filter and Ignition Module. My old ignition module was tested and turned out bad and seemed to explain the problem but while test driving the car that day (about 1 half hour after replacing the ignition module) the car stalled out suddenly again. I have since tested the new ignition module and it came out fine, I also replaced the external coil with a msd blaster coil and changed cap and rotor just to be safe. Motor won't even catch now and hasn't caught since suddenly stalling out with the new ignition module, it just cranks. It has been sitting for about three days now. Still won't catch. I pulled the codes and it only gave me a code 23, but I don't see how the TPS or MAT could keep the car from even starting. I have relatively new (about 1 year) fuel injectors and fuel pump and when the car was able to run in between stalling out, I checked the injectors listening through a screwdriver and they were all pulsing just fine. I also tried to start the car with starter fluid and it still won't start so it really seems to be a spark problem. Finally, back when the motor used to catch there was a loud screech that I first thought was the belt (sounds like belt screech) but since concluded after replacing the belt that it sounded like it was coming from the starter. The motor cranks over though and the sound only occured when the motor would catch, what is my problem?

The "screech" you described is more than likely caused by incorrect shims on the starter, causing the gear to have incorrect clearance.
Have you pulled a spark plug and grounded it and observed while cranking to see if you were indeed getting spark to the plug?
Is there power going in to your ignition coil with the key on?

I've tried grounding the plug with a wire to the fender wall and I'm getting nothing, I also tried a grounded screwdriver in the wire boot and I didn't get anything. After removing the plug it smelled strongly of gas. I don't have a DVM available, how do I go about testing the ignition coil? Also, I noticed the car is making a buzzing noise when the electric is turned on coming from the alternator that sounds like it could be a short or something.
