After 3 years waiting my 90 iroc begins. When i bought this car i was told engine was new but had a small tap in number 6 cylinder. Second gear was also out of transmission. Intake was partially off when i bought it. I put the intake back together and got car running. It indeed had a small tap. It would idle fine but when a load was put on it wold lose power and smoke. Well after a long wait my friend who has a degree in auto mechanics helped me take out engine and tranny. We took off the shitty 193 heads and what a surprise.A completely rebuilt engine with all new internals. The big surprise was that it wasnt number 6 it was number 3 cylinder. It has never once fired. The piston looks like its right out of the box. This car was never on the road. Iknew this because it wasnt licensed or the title was never transfered from the original owner. It also has a new radiator new torque converter Tranny was rebuilt. My buddy took tranny home with him to rip down . Puter has new Hypertec chip. This is a 4bolt engine. I ohmed the injectors ( which are new) and they all checked out good. Bottom of car is rust free with paint on it . This car only had 82000 miles on it when i got it. Ionly payed 1400 for this car. I think i got a good deal now. If anyone is familiar with tci torque converters the numbers are 242961 on the converter. Tci only has 242962 listed . Was this converter discontinued? Pics to follow
