Need help identifying a part

Hi All,

I am missing a small part and need the name of it so I can look for it.

I have an 87 Iroc w/a 305 T.P.I.

Where the top portion of the hard plastic piece (attached to the 2 air filters) meets the flexible hose of the Bosch unit, I am missing the piece that attaches the two. There is a clamp there, but the clamp has nothing to bite/attach to and the housing can be easily moved.

Included is a picture (not of my car) of a similar engine with the part in question within the circle.

Thanks in advance!

The hard plastic Y shaped piece that covers the two air filters slips directly in to the rubber intake bellows. Maybe your Y shaped piece is broken off where it necks down to connect to the bellows. A picture of your car would make this easier.

Not on an 87, the MAF sensor is there.

The plastic piece that covers the twin air filters is called the flow lid, its large and Y-shaped, always black in color. Since you have an '87 TPI, you have a MAF car (unless its been altered). The sensor that connects to the flow lid is the MAF (Mass Air Flow). To connect the MAF to the air (flow) lid, is a round metal band with teeth. Are you talking about this metal band? If you are, just use tape or go to a junk yard.

BTW: your pic is of a MAP car, not MAF, so its mis-leading.
