Will eliminating the mass air flow sensor affect the engine in any way??? im planing on just running a cold air intake to the TPI throttle.

No unfortunately you cannot eliminate the MAF sensor as the way your system works is the MAF sensor directly measures the air comming into the motor and useing that information as well as information from other sensors calculats how much fuel to inject. That being said you can swap to a MAP style system that dosnt use a MAF sensor but that would be more trouble than its worth if all you want to do is eliminate the MAF senors.

 

If you get an error code reporting trouble with the MAS,
does that usually mean it needs to be replaced?

 

pretty sure somebody swapped mine to maps from maf.

i have k/n intake. i wouldn't suggest buying one for a 3rd gen.
