Starter issue...
I thought my old starter went cuz it was just clicking and before that turning over slow so I got a new one from summit and installed it and it is just clicking faster.
I found that my power wire from the battery to the starter was burnt and probably 10 of the strands weren't intact, but many more were so I just wrapped it with electrical tape.
Could that cause this problem??
Thanks

Re: Starter issue...
Would be a good place to start. Sounds like its not getting enough power. Is the wire corroded? What other wires were burnt,if any of those are going to the starter solenoid I would try replacing the burnt section with new wire. I just finished working on my starter. My problem turned out to be the studs on the solenoid were stripped and I couldn't tighten it done enough to get a good connection. http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=38 Theres alot of good info for starters in the write up and most helpful to me it has the diagram. If anything you should be able to rig a switch to bypass all that, just engage the starter with the switch. Was what I was gonna do till I found the problem, lol
