engine sufficate it self?
I have modified fully ported tpi 383. I've been dialing in the timing and idle in a hot 95º plus no air ciculating garage. The garage door is open with the rear of the car facing out. It starts up fine but as its running and goes into close loop. About 1-2 minutes into it the idle drops. from 700-800 rpms down to 4-500 rpms. then it just stalls out. Is the lack of no air ciculating other than the engine cooling fan running enough to kill the engine in the heat. I also have a slp cold air induction on the car. I can sometimes stop it from stalling by blipping the throttle. But it will try to do it again til it does die. I have not pushed it out of the garage because my other cars are on the driveway, and I don't want to move them til I know I can start driving the camaro.

Cold air won't help it. Theres something wrong, either mechanically or in the tune.

I would take a closer look at the TPS and IAC. Next get a vacuum gauge to see what is going on. Also glance at the fuel pressure.

I agree with the replies you already got, I'd think that if you were in that garage with the car that you would die before it did.

Ok!
I'm starting to think my base/intial ignition timing is still off. That maybe I'm setting it wrong. Should I wait til the engine goes into close loop before I attempt to adjust the timing, or does it matter. If so should I wait til close loop before disconnecting the set timing connector wire, and can I do it while its running or what?

Re: engine sufficate it self?
My plugs are new Autolites #3923 gapped at .045, I believe they are colder plugs, and they clear my headers better. The good news I think I got it. I disconnected the battery to start fresh, and reset the base timing to 16 degrees btdc. She seems to like it. I'm now just working on the idle which seems to be best at 750 rpms.
