not the iac. now what?

Sometimes when I drive it and it warms up and come up to a red light it will sit at 500 rpms and outta nowhere it dropps below 500 then jumps to about 700 then goes back to 500.It would do that about 5 times then stop. Its gettin on my nerves because the whole car jumps when this is happening. Its doing it more frequently now. I cleaned the iac valve, checked it etc. Its the l03 tbi. It only does it at lights.

Re: not the iac. now what?

I had a problem with the EGR valve sticking that would cause this type of problem. It would run fine cold, then after about 5 minutes or so, when I would stop to idle, it would bounce around. I plugged the vacuum line going to the EGR just to test it and it went away. Replaced the valve, now it's perfect. Hope this helps.

Would it hurt to just delete the egr? I was gonna take it off anyways. I heard that if you do the car will run either lean or rich. I just wanna be safe before I take that kinda stuff off. I will definately check it out though.

i have heard it decreases gas mileage. I ran without it for about a month and didn't notice anything different. Just remember if you do, make sure to plug the vacuum line or it may throw a code.

i plugged the line and it stopped jumping at lights and I noticed a huge power difference. Its got alot more top end power. So its gonna come off. I just need to fabricate a nice resrictor plate.
