Not starting up. Again.
Not starting up. Again.
So I have a 92 305TBI. A couple months back, I had an alternator problem. Replaced the Alternator and Battery. I went camping for about 4 days, so my car was sitting out in my driveway in the hundred degree weather for the duration of the camping trip.
As I get home and try to leave for work, my car wont start up. The alarm wont turn on or off and if I turn the key nothing happens. No engine turning over or anything. I tried to jump it, and it made the engine try to turn over like once or maybe twice and then it just clicks, didnt start up.
I'm guessing it's my starter considering my alternator and battery are new, but I'm not positive. I'd like to figure it out for sure before I shell out money I barely have =s any help? Thanks in advance

try charging your battery up or check it with a multimeter. Sounds like the battery is dead. If it is dead then you may have left something on or you have something draining your battery slowly. Be sure that the alternator is hooked up correctly and you didnt blow the fusible link.

Assuming everything was working fine when you left, then it would seem you had a major drain over the weekend. If the car you are jumping from is small or your jump cables are thin, you would still struggle to get it started if the battery was completely dead. Charge the battery and get the the charge system tested. If it is ok, then you need to look for a parasitic drain when the car is off. If the starter is bad, it wouldnt keep the alarm from working.
