Vortech Supercharging.
I was looking at this Centrifugal supercharger kit by Vortech off of Summit's website. I am fairly interested in purchasing this kit, so I am trying to do some research on it. I would be installing this on my stock 1988 Trans Am GTA with an L98, and a 700R4 transmission. I read on another retailers web site who also carries this kit, that this particular unit will take a stock L98 up to 340 horse power and 430 (ft. lbs.) of torque. First of all, will the transmission and rear end handle that kind of power stock? How will the engine handle the 6-8 PSI of boost? I would assume this kit would be easy to install, with basic hand tools since it is not intercooled also. Anybody have experiance with this particular unit? Thanks alot guys, I really appreciate your help.

I installed that kit on my '90 TA earlier this year but used the self-lubricated V-3 supercharger as i didn't like the idea of tapping into my oil pan:

I am seeing 10-11 psi of boost so either need to get a bypass valve or a larger SC pulley.
Shop around - you should be able to find a better price.

I think that you're going to see a lot more than 6-8PSI without a blowoff valve. I have their kit on a 305 and it makes way more than that, I dont see how a 350 is going to be that much less.
The engine and rear should be fine if they are in good working condition (not currently worn out or damaged in some way) but the transmission might not like it too much.
