starting problem

My car seems to have a starting problem. When you turn the key it will start just fine. Then theres times where you turn the key and all you hear is a "click" sound and thats it. Turn the key off and turn it back on and it starts no problems. Its just a weird problem. Any ideas on what it is? Im just getting back into the camaro game so i kinda lost some of my chevy knowledge lol

Re: starting problem

Sounds like a bad starter to me but check your battery connections and the connections at the starter

Re: starting problem

Then your in for a treat because in the camaors its a breeze. The hardest part is just haveing to jack up the car and crawl around underneeth. Its in most case 2 bolts and 2 wire connections that are all easy to get to. Some have a support in back bust again thats easy to remove as well as its only 1 additional nut to remove.

Alright cool.. So you think that what it is? Sometimes it takes 3 times to get it to crank over and other times it starts the first time

Re: starting problem

Well me first guess is a bad connection as bad connections can do that stuff to you and starters are fairly reliable more so than the connection on these older cars. You can you can hear the staters solenoid clicking but nothings happening so that tells me the wireing/ignition switch is ok. So if not a bad connection ide say a bad starter motor.
