the oil pressure is fine at idle and when normal driving, but as soon as i nail the throttle the oil pressure drops to almost 10, any ideas on what it might be ???

May be a bad gauge itself. Just a suggestion. maybe a clogged oil filter or crushed partially? Or maybe a bad filter. I know it happens but its not uncommon to have a bad oil filter. It may be new but maybe manufacture glitch. Not so sure on the oil pump. im not good at internal parts. Good Luck

if the gauge is correct, it most likely is your pump on its way out.

If the gauge is correct, it probably means that the pickup has fallen off.
