timing help please

timing help please

i have a 350 with vortec heads summit racing intake manifold and an edelbrock cam am i able to use the stock timing set and just line up the timing marks or do i need to buy a new set also my dizzy wont sit flush with the intake manifold any suggestions

You can use the old timing chain and sprockets if the chain isn't stretched too much. I would install new ones.

The distributor doesn't sit flush because it needs to engage the oil pump. Remove the distributor and using a long flat bladed screwdriver thru the manifold hole, turn the oil pump shaft a little bit and try to install the distributor again.
