Squishy Clutch Pedal
Squishy Clutch Pedal
Today on the way home after a long trip, merging off the interstate I noticed the clutch pedal felt much weaker than usual. My clutch pedal has always been really stiff though, (so much that my wife refuses to drive it). It still shifts through all the gears normally, clutch still seems to be working.
When I got home I popped the hood and checked the round container near the firewall on the drivers side, which I assume is the clutch fluid reservoir.
It looked a tad low, nothing much, but the color is brown, which doesn't seem good.
Any ideas of what I could check to isolate the problem?
Thanks.

Re: Squishy Clutch Pedal
Look at the pushrod connected to the clutch fork to see if the pressure is bleeding out of the system. I would recommend flushing out the fluid too. The system is set just like brakes, if air gets in, its a no go!

flushing the clutch & brake system is a very overlooked item . when the fluild gets brown , time to flush . good luck .

Re: Squishy Clutch Pedal
How does one bleed or flush the clutch? Is there a bleed nipple on the clutch cylinder like there is on brake calipers?
