My 1989 camaro 5.0 TBI jut started to have a problem it seems like the battery is dead nd it wont start when i gave it a jump start it kinda hesitted to strt but it started then i turned it off and then i wouldnt start i let it restfor a while and then i tried it again and then its started right up again thats weird i have replaced the alternator i dont know if its the started or the battery or a short somewhere so any help is helpful thanks alot

take the battery and have it tested. just so you can rule that out. i had a similar problem where the car would turn on, but would shut off minutes later, then not be able to be turned back on. turned out the battery was bad. it would have enough to turn the car but it wouldnt take a charge from the alternator.
so once you rule out the battery you can move from there. like turn on the headlights and crank the car while theyre on. if the car doesnt turn on but the lights dimmed. then that means the starter is putting a load on the battery but its not doing anything. usually a bad starter. or if it the lights dont dim you know you have a problem somewhere before the battery. perhaps an ignition switch.
so once you rule out the battery you can move from there. like turn on the headlights and crank the car while theyre on. if the car doesnt turn on but the lights dimmed. then that means the starter is putting a load on the battery but its not doing anything. usually a bad starter. or if it the lights dont dim you know you have a problem somewhere before the battery. perhaps an ignition switch.
