Overheat problem
I am a noob, so please be easy on me... lol I have a LG-3 305, not my choice. it's what the former owner dropped in it. It has a weiand stealth intake edelbrock 1405 carb th350 trans. I'm not sure about the rear, but was told it has 3.08 gears in it. The guy did a real hack job on the whole install. I'm not sure when the oil was changed last, but that is getting done this weekend. I also need to flush the coolant system as the PURE water that was in it was RED from rust.
My question is this, could the bad oil and rusty water cause the car to overheat after running for a few miles? It starts and runs with 45psi oil for about 5 or 6 miles then drops to 15-20 psi right before it overheats. I pulled the 180 degree thermostat, so it takes a bit longer but still does it.
