Wonderbar and Fans don't go well together

I installed this wonderbar a few weeks ago. At that time I noticed it was pushing up against the fan lower mounting points. I didn't think much of it at all. A couple days ago, I got home and noticed all of my antifreeze was pouring out. The fans were dragging on the radiator and it created a large hole. I bought a new radiator. I just installed it. Now I was going to mount the fans, but the mounting points are still too close to the wonderbar. Can you guys come up with a solution for this problem? The wonderbar does not want to budge to give more room for the fans. I trimmed the fan mounts and it still doesn't fit. Can you guys help me out? Sorry for the long read. Here's a pic of the 4 mounting points, I'm referring to. Thanks.

Re: Wonderbar and Fans don't go well together

the only thing i can think of is slotting the holes in the wonderbar a little so it will slide back some. if not then i would remove it so you can drive the xar for now.

that wonder bar is not designed to clear dual fans, i cant tell what you have.

The stock style, and the one from Top Down solutions does.

I do have dual fans. I didn't know this wonderbar wasn't made to clear them.

Yeah, I didn't see it when I ordered. But obviously you're correct, because it doesn't work with my dual fans. Thanks for your help.

So does the Global West version.

Re: Wonderbar and Fans don't go well together

Can you clamp the mounting tabs on your wonder bar somehow, and then bend them some?

If you can, you might be able to give them a small bend, angling the cross bar down, giving room for the rad fans.

Keep your fans.....Keep your wonder bar..... & a Free fix.

Re: Wonderbar and Fans don't go well together

With enough leverage & clamping force, they'll move.

If your mounting tabs where the bolts go in, they are pretty deep. Much deeper than how tall the bolt heads are. Can you trim the plastic "buckets" down enough?

Slip a flat piece under the wonder bar mounts, to lower it & clear the fan mounts?

Re: Wonderbar and Fans don't go well together

Looking at your pic again.....It looks like you can slot the holes in the mount tabs almost 1/2", allowing it to sit further back, away from the fan mounts.

Re: Wonderbar and Fans don't go well together

I know it's an old thread but I bought a Spohn wonder bar and am noticing that the fan brackets in my dual fan setup will now hit the bar same as thelastz28.

Did you have any luck with slotting the holes? Any pics?

Yes apparently it's a problem with Spohn. Found in their site instructing to shave the bosses of the fan plastic shroud. Will try that
