Hey guys, the fuel line leading from the fuel tank up to the fuel filter is rotted. Today I was trying to replace the fuel filter and after putting only light pressure on it, the line burst a few inches away from the filter. Where can I get a replacement line? The line leading from the filter to the engine seems solid, but the line heading from the tank to the filter is the troubled one. Some help soon would be great!!!

and i heard that i might need to replace the whole sending unit in the tank. which i REALLY hope isn't the case.

There are a couple of sites that have prebent stainless and steel lines.

 

Yeah Yeah!! Try that site... about your sending unit... I have an 84 K5 Blazer running TPI.. I used a sending unit from a new TBI Blazer... Fuel pump fits perfect.. I am pretty positive this sending unit will fit in your stock location in the tank.. my point is you might look for a sending unit from a different vehicle if you cant find one for your specific car.. used always ussually works. new is much to expenive and they are all after market unless you go to a GM dealer which will still be expensive..

You might could run all new braided steel rubber fuel lines from Summit Racing or Jegs.. you will have to check on prices.. I purchased a number of different fittings and 20ft of line.. all less then $100

 

Dorman makes a repair kit for this. Advance carries it, most other parts places too I imagine. It has a length of line with the fuel filter fitting on one side and a compression fitting for the other side.

 

That would be the best for me. I looked at the line and when its going toward the sending unit it connects to a rubber hose (which is what i pinched off now to stop the leak). I couldn't find any clamps that it seems to be holding on with, the other lines are held with garden hose clamps except for this one. For now I just wanna fix this thing and make it road worthy and during the winter I plan on doing a minor restoration to the car and I'll replace the fuel lines with the fancy steel braided ones most likely. i had the same problem if you want a quick fix buy feul injector hose and clamp it off on both sides
