88 Trans Am GTA Code 36?

OK I pulled my codes and got a code 36 and this is what it told me (Burn off at mass air flow sensor OR Problem in transmission shift OR Fault in direct ignition system OR Missing pulses in electronic spark timing signal) now ive already eliminated the mass air and spark plugs and wires so i know those arent it but what the trans shift thing about and or what else coud it be it has no acceleration at all and then it cuts in and out at timesand it all started because the positive terminal on the battery hit the inner fender well and shorted out now i replaced the body ground but and it worked for a min but now its running like crap all over again any help would be appreciated

The MAF burnofff circuit has a problem. You can remove the intake ductwork from the MAF and observe the burnoff cycle, or you can monitor the MAF output signal with a voltmeter durning a burnoff cycle to make sure the sensor is actually burning off the hot wire.

you can try replacing your ignition coil module for the lack of power and intermittent hesation. it is the little box under your distributor cap that the two connectors hook to.
