Need help with serpentine belt drive install

I recently picked up an 88 GTA that originally had a 5.0 & manual transmission setup but, the 305 is long gone and a 350 is in its place. Unfortunately, when the 350 went in the serpentine belt drive was ditched for a very hacked v-belt system (I have wire nuts used to lengthen the alternator wires to the other side of the engine bay just to give you an idea how how well the install was done). The 88 Firebird shop manual doesn't show how to remove/install the serpentine belt brackets let alone tell me which bolt to use where and what the torque values are. So, I'm wondering if anyone has an install diagram similar to what GM includes as part # 12490896 in its serpentine system for gen one engines. I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,

Not sure about exact torque - I just tighten them down good and tight - you're bolting into the block, so it's not like stripping is as easy as in let's say an aluminum intake manifold.

Thanks for the tip but I didn't see any diagrams when I checked out those links; just part numbers and so on.
Thanks, anyway,
Tony

Thanks for the tip. The one picture shows the bolts for the alternator and power steering bracket very well. Are all of the bolts that go through the bracket and into the engine the same size or do they change? Also. are you using thread locker on the bolts as well?
Thanks,
Tony

You'll find the following instructions (12490896) very helpful, I think:

Actually, my serp review may generally come in handy as well:

Re: Need help with serpentine belt drive install
All the bolts that hold the accessory brackets themselves to the engine will all be the same diameter and thread pitch, since they all screw into the accessory holes on the heads. But I don't remember, they may be varying lengths - it depends on the boss heights on the brackets - I want to think they are all identical, but I'm not 100%.

I do remember some are actual bolts (I think torx heads on mine), as well as nuts that attach to studs that are on the block or heads.

I never used any threadlocker - just snugged them up good and tight.

If you need the brackets themselves, I just removed mine for a setup off a 1987 IROC that is half serp and half v-belt.

Thanks James, both of those links were very useful, especially the instruction sheet as it also showed the bolts/fasteners as well as giving the torque values. This will go a long way to getting the GTA back in shape.
Thanks again,
Tony
