New Camaro owner! 1989 Camaro 2.8 V6
Hey I've got alotta questions and I'm in hope of some decent answers. I'm 17 years old and I just bought a 1989 Camaro V6 RS. There are a few problems with it and i was wondering if anyone else had some insight or maybe experienced the same things.
1. When i turn all the way to the left, the driver side wheel rubs on the frame, but when i turn all the way to the right no rubbing and turns fine.Any suggestions?
2. Any cheap power adders for the piddly little V6? Remember, i'm on a fixed budget and i have 4 Advanced Placement classes to worry about. I'm lookin to make 250-300 HP. Any suggestions?
3. After i drive around for about an hour i start to loose power, and the clutch feels like it doesnt want to engage. Also, i start to have some hesitation. When I first drive it though, it drives like a dream. Perfect accel and clutch engagement. Any suggestions?
4. The fuel gauge likes to float around alot and I dont get an accurate reading until i'm fully stopped and it's sat for a while.
5. The temp gauge is broke, any common problems with why this would break?
6. Also, when i first start it , the idle is really really low, like 5-7 hundred RPM. Normal?
7. I have a HARD brake pedal when the engine dives in RPM, i've careened through several intersections unintentionally so i'm not driving it until i get this fixed.

Simliar with my daughters 91 Camaro, but both sides rubbed. We installed new KYB struts up front with Energy Suspension Sway bar bushings and along with ground out suspension bumpers. ..... No more rubbing sounds. I got both struts and rear shocks on ebay new for $134. The other parts I obtained from Autozone for $12.99 to $19.99.
The swaybar bushings were shot.....what bushing.... just a bolt.
Is it hitting bumps hard? Check your front suspension.

There arent really any power adders for the 2.8 Ive already tried to find something for it. Best bet is to build your own turbo setup if thats what your looking for. As for the idle 600rpm is normal. My fuel gauge likes to float around quite a bit also, but Ive driven it till it read E on the gauge and I still ahd about 2gals left in the tank.
