Knock Sensor Question

Can a knock sensor be installed using a brass elbow and a one inch straight brass pipe in order to move the sensor away from a header AND still function properly? I can install the knock sensor in the block but it only has a 3/4" space between it and my block huger headers. I fear the plug that attaches to it will melt. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks Glenno

Re: Knock Sensor Question

The extension tube will work fine

You can move the sensor to another port on the other side of the block

If that wont work its been moved to the fuel pump block off plate without any ill effects but the best readings are when its in a water jacket

Other side of the block is even worse. I will look at the fuel pump block off area. Thanks for your help!
