I got the same code and it was an easy fix, if you look by the firewall behind the master cylinder there is a set off relays one being particularly rectangular ,that one is the MAF power relay i changed that one and the other one all the way to the right is the burn off relay i changed that one and so far the light hasn't come back on. Hope this helps each relay is about 12 bucks at auto zone one of the part numbers is MR22. Good Luck.

Re: what does code 36 mean?

What a code 36 is is a burn off system failure. What the burn off system is, is a system that basically pulses 12V to the MAF after you shut the car off to burn off any crap from the MAFs sensing wire. This keeps it clean and prevents it from reading inaccurate (these sensors are and have to be very accurate thats why there so expensive) due to build up on the wire. So ide deffinetly run through the procedure to troubleshoot it although its not a critical failure running that makes the car undriveable the car like that will eventually damage the MAF because its not being cleaned. Should be an easy fix most likely.

well...the thread is 9 years old, and a quick check of the original posters profile shows he hasn’t posted anything to the forum since 2012....so it’s probably unlikely an update is forthcoming.
