90 Camaro 350 TPI

so i belive with the help of some member we've narrowed down my insanely poor gas mileage(120km for a full tank...) and power loss to my furl pressure regulator (if you have any other ideas let me know). In any case, when i rebuild the engine this winter, is it possible to remove the stock one and put a aftermarket regulator in a more acsessable location? just in case it ever goes again and not be a 800 fix and just make life easier.
