Looking at a camaro 350 tonight

I am going to look at a 1986 camaro with the following tonight. I know you cant tell me exact horsepower it is putting to the wheels but do you have a rough estimate as to what it should be close to? Thanks!

350 motor with forged flat tops, 488 lift cam, ported and polished heads, roller rockers, Victor JR intake, Mallory Unilite distributor with Hyfire box, Holley 650 carb.

Edelbrock Headers with Flowmaster 3inch exhaust with chrome tips

350 Turbo transmission with shift kit, B&M ratchet shifter, 3500 stahl converter

Daytona Iroc Cowl Induction Hood, Anniversary spoiler, Driveshaft safety loop, 410 posi rear, Aftermarket lower control arms and relocation brackets to help the car hook. Linelocks, 5 inch autometer tach.

Chrome Ultra wheels with like new tires, Custom green and black interior with Ttops.

Re: Looking at a camaro 350 tonight

Ugh. That's a typically shitty combination right there.

.488 lift cam is the stage two summit cam. It's made by everyone and their dog. 234/244 duration at .050" IIRC. It's choppy, but isn't as powerful as is sounds.
Ported and polished heads typically means goobered up smoggers. It's probably got 8.5:1 and a big cam, no flow. It'll make lots of noise, and burn lots of gas, but it's not as quick as it sounds.

The Victor junior also means it's got no bottom end.

All in all, it's probably a race car, with no street potential, and no business being on a race track. New cylinder heads would cure most of these problems though.

Find out EXACTLY what cylinder heads are on there. The rest of the parts are pretty standard.

I have the same cam in a car i just bought, and it sounds way more nasty than its bite. I agree too that the victor jr. is to much. for the size if that cam. Its a pretty a pretty common build, the heads are the key.

I looked at it tonight. It is set up for the strip and had a bigger motor that blew. Then they dropped this motor in. Car would not be bad if I just wanted a car for the strip, but I am looking for a little nicer car interior and exterior wise. thanks for the info.
