wont make a sound.
Ive got an 85 ta 305 TPI. The fuel pump and fuel filter were replaced by the guy i bought it off of, and yes they are correctly installed. The problem is that when i go to start the car (which i have to jump btw) the starter clicks but it wont start. I'm not getting any power to the fuel pump unless i directly hook it up to the battery. I cant figure out why the pump wont work. Any suggestions? O and Im going to be checking to make sure there is power going through the wires to the pump....which i suspect is the cause of the problem but im not sure.

Check and see if the wire going from positive batt terminal to starter has fallen on the exhaust somewhere. My car did same thing it would start if my buddy jumped me but not without. I found my wire burned, even if it is a small spot there is a good possibility that the whole wire is toasted.
Re: wont make a sound.
the thing is though that I still get power elsewhere in the car. i can turn the lights on and the windows go up and down but it just wont start. theres no fuel being pumped, so i know its something to do with the fuel pump. Like i said before theres no power goin to the pump, i just cant figure out why. o and to make things more difficult its not the engine thats supposed to be in the car. its supposed to be a carby but its tpi...f**k my life.

Well, my car did the same thing, check and make sure all of the wires are conected to all of the systems, sometimes the may come loose. I still had power to my systems but the car would not start, not enough amps were going to the starter to crank. Do the lights and power stuff go out when you try and turn it over? That might be it.
Re: wont make a sound.
didnt really notice, we were too busy tryin to get the thing to crank over. all i know for sure is that the thing is a hack job and a half. i paid 100 bucks for the car and i want it to run....bad. im thinkin about just sayin skrew it and buyin a carby for $400.
