HELP ME PLEASE 350 trouble

i changed the lifters in my car. so i had to take the distibuter out. we put everything back and retimed the car. went to top dead center and turned the distributer to no. 1 it would start up and idle on occasion with the fuel line off but when you plug it up it just floods right know most people would say o the carb. float in it to be exact i went and bought a new refurbashed carb and still it would only run on starting fluid. please help me you can email me at red92z28@aol.com thanks

Re: HELP ME PLEASE 350 trouble

the float in the carb requires you to have less than 7 psi of fuel pressure into the carb, while your in-tank electric pump is pushing alot more than that. get a return-style fuel pressure regulator.

Re: HELP ME PLEASE 350 trouble

Just because you bought a refurbished carb doesn't mean it's had it's floats adjusted - it just means it's been taken apart, new gaskets, and new parts if needed, and put back together. Adjusting floats has to be done on the car with gas in the carb. Same as other adjustments. Why does everyone think a fix comes in a box? Get your hands dirty, get a screwdriver, a book, a beer - whatever, and get in there! Can't learn unless you just do.
