Nodular iron crank and 400hp?

Well my L98 decided it didnt wanna run anymore and needs a rebuild.
So to keep it simple im just gonna order a new shortblock. I dont think I need a forged crank and rods but I could be wrong. I plan on doing a decent set of heads and cam. Im shooting for around 350hp/450ft lbs with the stock tpi manifold. But I was really wanting to add a 100 shot for the track or the occasional new vette who pulls up next to me.

Just wanting opinons if I need a forged crank.
Thanks

You should be fine, so long as you keep it from having detonation.

I wouldnt worry about with only 100 shot and only spraying now and then. Double the hit and heavy track/street use and I would say yes go forged.

stock rods are forged. The main thing that kills them is rpm. The heavier the piston, the less they'll tolerate. just get some pre-1980 rods, and have them fitted with ARP bolts then resized. That'll serve most any 350 to 6500 rpm over and over again.
