what the hell is the matter with my camaro? itsan 86 2.8 5 spd. and when i take off from a dead stop, especially uphill, it shakes uncontrolibly. someone told me that it was clutch chatter. that I need a new clutch, should i get a replacement oe clutch kit, or a centerforce stage 1 JUST THE DISC for 100 dollars??? thats all i have to spare right now and i need it done this week or next. the kit is $100, and the centerforce DISC is $100 also, PLEASE HELP ME!!

 

If it was me I would go with stock new not reman. With the upgrades you have planned more money for it or unless you plan on doing a lot of burnouts. Plus you can get pressure plate too.

 

its not remanned, its a new centerforce stage 1 clutch disc. its only a daily driver, apperance is my goal for the car, and longevity. but the kit is 100 for oe new, and the centerforce disc is 100 new. ill just do the kit. i wanna cxompletely get rid of the chatter. i dont wanna spend 100 dollars on a disc and it not ultimately solve my shaking problem.

 

I did not think the centerforce was reman I meant if you went with oe . Its usally best to replace disc and pressure plate at same time. Because plate could have hotspots or fingers get weak if thats what type yours has. Have u tried adjusting it?

 

It might be good idea to get your flywheel resurfaced too. Just thought of that.
