I have a 92 z28 with a 305. Auto trans and is all stock. I recently bought the car and I am having trouble deciding what cam I want to throw in there. I want more power, but I also want to keep it reliable and my daily driver. I know I want the best of both worlds, but who doesn't? Any suggestions??? Thanks.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

More power is fine, but let's go through the proper steps. First, what exhaust does it have? In '92, there were two options, and one is not good.

So, single or dual cat? If single cat, don't bother with anything until you replace the entire exhaust system. No matter what you do to the engine without doing that, the exhaust will hold it back.

Re: 92 z28 cam decisions
It has a magnaflow muffler on it with dual outs.... I'm wanting to rip that off and find a place that will actually make it true dual.

Re: 92 z28 cam decisions
you could go to the comp cams site and download their CamQuest program. It is full of options and will give you just about all the info you need or want. I use it, and it's great. www.compcams.com
