Re: 87 IROC starter
Mine's an 86 TPI car but I did not have to drop the exhaust to get the starter out and the new one in.
The problem with starters is always, for me anyway, trying to get the wires back on the starter in that tiny space. Depends on the wires. Sometimes I can sit it on it's rear, nose up in the air, and get the wires on and then raise the back up and bolt it in.
Its been several years since I put a starter on my IROC but it the hardest part of the job to me is getting the darn thing up off the ground and blocked up so I can get to the starter and wiring.

Re: 87 IROC starter
Thanks for the reply. After doing a search I found that the solenoid needs to be removed first then the starter will come out. This will be interesting.
