Need help with injector problem

My car will start then it just dies. My friend and I have narrowed it down to the injectors. They start up fine then they lose power, and he said its not on the ground side its coming from the power side. It will stay running for different time lengths also???? I don't understand it has this happened with any of you guys?

Thanks in advance Bo

Re: Need help with injector problem

It helps if you post the MY of the vehicle along with the fuel injection type.

If this is a MPFI or TPI of the '89 through '92 MY. And still has the stock Multec injectors. Then just swap them out for some decent Bosch units. The Multec injector coils short out which prevents all 6 or 8 injectors from firing. Basically the engine won't run.

Although the problem usually starts with missing, surging, and holding back on the highway. Then progresses until the engine starts to cut out. Then on to a total no-start condition.

RBob.

I agree with Rob, the multecs are notorious for coil failure, you will be extremely happy if you swapped them for a set of the bosch design lll's.
