I've got this motor in a parts car and I can't seem to ID it. Have not taken it out yet.
Casting number is worn so I cannot read it. It has an engine suffix on the water pump pad. reads:
V0519DMN
I can't seem to locate "DMN" anywhere on any of the suffix lists.. I'm assuming it is some 350 from the 80s, as it has a passenger side dipstick and '882 heads. Just curious what the original application was.

It's not a 350. It's a 267
DMM = 1979, 267 CID, 120HP, 2BBL, L39

I couldn't locate that suffix anywhere.. Your 100% positive eh? Guess I'll measure the bore to be sure tomorrow. Wow.
Does a 267 use the same balancer and flywheel weight as a 350? Guess I'll look it up.

If it is only a 267 ;small (3.50 ) bore and long (3.48 ) stroke ; you might be on to something , nice fuel economy engine for the gas price rises ?
There are much better choices for a fuel efficient engine. The 267 is one of the worst and smallest V8's that GM produced.

Pistons appear to be cast OE type. Seller said it was rebuilt 2500 miles ago, and the cylinders seem to back that story up. Might be a good candidate for a 350-400hp street engine.

Interesting. I quoted the DMM suffix code. I can't find DMN either.

Many of the Dxx codes are 305's The casting number is not legible. On the side of the block, and behind the timing cover appears "207" in the cast.
I can't tell who made the pistons. They simply say "0.40" on the top. They are a dish type, with two valve reliefs. Normal rods and a cast crank it seems. looks cast, didn't look up the number.
