Would anyone know if an 87 GTA, 305 TPI came with an OEM roller cam ?

Yes 87 was the first year for roller cams as standard equipment on both the LB9 and L98. There were several different cams used in the 305 tpi. The best one only came in 5 speed cars. That cam is actually the same as the L98 cam.

A lot of people go with stock LT1 or LT4 cams. They are great for perfomance in the tpi and can be installed without making too many drastic changes. Also you can probably find one much cheaper than any other kind of performance roller cam kit.
