hey guys I recently bought a 1986 iroc that has a 355 carb motor the previous owner swapped into the car. None of the factory gauges were hooked up but the speedometer. So I bought a new dash cluster from ebay and put in autometer mechanical gauges. I was able to get all of them hooked up but the oil pressure.
The oil pressure fitting hole on the back of the upper block looks like someone stuck a bolt in it and the bolt broke off flush with the top of the surface. It doesn't leak any oil from the hole and there are no cracks in the wall. I am curious were else I can hook up the oil filter. The car has a remote oil cooler on it and the previous owner has a autometer electric oil temp gauge hooked up to the remote cooler.
Is there anywhere else on the block where i can put the fitting for the oil pressure gauge?

Look above the oil filter - see if there is a plug there. The cars had oil pressure sending units there, but I think the older ones ran the OPSU off the china wall (where your broken plug is at). So, you might be able to remove that plug, and it will provide same oil passage info as the one on the china wall.
