Sputtering at cold start, dies at a stop and sputter on restart.
Its been intermittent the past week, the car will sputter when you first start it after sitting a few hours, you have to raise the rpm's for about a minute before it will run fine. then on my way home today the first stopsign i came to the car died and did not want to restart without holding down the gas pedal, after that it was fine.
seems like its starting to get worse.
the speedo is not hooked up, but would that affect starts?
also through a MAF code 33 and lean port exhaust code 44 today after dieing
any help is greatly appreciated!
EDIT: I also recently replaced both realys for the maf sensor with brand new ac delo relays

Bad O2 sensor can cause the lean code. If you had to hold the pedal to the floor to get it to start, it may have flooded (may not be any relation between the code and having to floor it to start it).
Could be a bad MAF. I keep hearing unplug it and if it runs better, you've got a bad MAF.
I'd also check your fuel pressure.

Similar thing happened to my bird, I tryed everything, replaced plugs, cap rotor, wires, ignition coil, that helped a little bit, but not the problem. Then i realized it was a fuel issue, i just replaced the fuel filter and didnt have any problems anymore... then my fuel pump went out. I would try the fuel filter.

I have a 87 iroc with a 305 tpi. When I start my car it will die after a few seconds. I have to keep pumpimg the throttle to keep it running. This is a problem that progressively got worse. It wont pull any engine codes. Before the engine not wanting to run, I did have the problem of it wanting to die at a stop sign. It would then trigger the check engine light. Things have gone downhill from there. I checked the fuel pressure at the fuel log and it was 44 lbs. ANY SUGGESTIONS ANYONE.
