frustration with vacuum tubes
tonight I was trying to check all the vacuum connections under the hood, and one of the hard plastic lines snapped in my hand. I started to remove the plenum to get an idea of how difficult it is to change that line, and another plastic line that goes into the throttle body snapped as well.
FRUSTRATION
Are these lines still sold by GM? They seem all preformed, and a couple of them (like of course one of the ones that snapped) go right into speicalized connectors that fit right into the TB. I don't really see many oher options than buying a shole new set of plastic lines, and trying to install them.
so, are they even available, and how do you deal with brittle vacuum lines?

Re: frustration with vacuum tubes
will rubber hose stand up to the heat of the engine? (not that the plastic did that great a job)
do I need to put some kind of heat shield over the tubing?
also, the one going in the back of the TB is broken off almost flush... how can I tie in the rubber lines into that one?

here's a picture of the connector that goes into the back of the TB. It's something to do with the Idle air assmbly, but I can't see how to fix it unless I can get the correct part

Re: frustration with vacuum tubes
I am trying to remount my vapor canister in my 1988 Camaro after 7 years, but I can't figure out hoow it was mounted. I went to a recycling yard, who had lots of other style canisters, and I found one like mine, but I couldn't get far enough under the car to figure out how it worked. Also, it appears to have had a bracket which fits, but makes even less sense. Does anyone know how this thing goes back together? PIctures would be helpful. The car was a v8, now Ram Jet. Had Cruise Control.
