pvc valve hoses on 93 gmc K1500 (350) 4x4

pvc valve hoses on 93 gmc K1500 (350) 4x4

I have two hoses coming out of either side of the engine on the valve covers. I was wondering if i neede the second one, i am puting a 4bbl 600cfm edelbrock carb im place of the tbi unit that is shot. can someone giv me some help?

One is for air into engine for crankcase ventilation ( usually pass side ) the other is the exit through the PCV valve to the intake.
If running a carb you can just put a push in type breather on the inlet side
