305 starter motor

Hi to all from Australia.
1984 Berlinetta 305 (carby)
I need a new starter motor and my question is........

are they the same starter motors for 307, 327, 350 etc....?
Theres not much info here in Oz about berlinettas (think there is only 3 or 4 in the country) so Im hoping another motor size will fit..
Cheers to all

Matt

Not quite universal, a starter from other applications could be for the larger diameter flywheel.

If you are not worried about keeping the car original, I can recommend one of those mini-starters you can get for a small block. The 2kW jobs are great for those hot start problems. Oh yeah and we're the Rugby League world champions.

Cheers
