What spark plugs to go for...

Hi everyone.

I want to change my spark plugs but because I'm in Europe it's hard to get hold of AC Delco R45TS.
So my question is what spark plug do I need to get from Bosh or NGK to have the same specifications as AC Delco?

Thanks alot for all your answers?

PS
Sorry if that questions was asked before.

Re: What spark plugs to go for...

not sure if these are "officially"equivlent to R45TS,but
i have used bosch HR10BCX and HR9BPX with good
results in the past(discovered the bosch has shorter
insulator than most AC,champion, autolite, etc and fit
with headers) also have used champion rv15yc4 with
good results(would not fit with headers though)
champion also makes(or at least used to) spark plugs
in england,so you might be able to get those over there

NGK BP4FS or BP5FS work well. If I remember correctly the 5 is the proper heat range and 4s are a little colder.

Cheers

I personally like NGK plugs, i use UR6GP plugs, 6(cold) heat range (4 is stock, ie hot) and platinum.

I noticed a huge change in having power up to 5k rpm, better fuel mileage and i could switch from 92 to 89 octane without pre-detonation.

Re: What spark plugs to go for...

A little spark plug info...your engine does not know or care what brand plug you give it, as long as it is good quality. It does, however, demand the correct heat range to operate properly and efficiently in your particular engine and your driving conditions. If using an interchange chart when switching brands, bear in mind they are seldom perfectly accurate as far as what plug is the same as another. Use the plug recommended in the manufacturers application listing of the brand you want to use (since most applications have been tested) and, depending on the characteristics particular to your engine, reading the plugs after use may or may not prompt you to go up or down in heat range to keep your engine happy. Reading the plugs should be a part of everyone's maintenance schedule instead of just replacing what was originally in it with the same plug. Not to mention the diagnostic information about the general health of the engine which is available from reading the plugs.
