and with the headers if you need emissions where you live get ones that hookup to the A.I.R system , and yes get a new high flow cat there's a ton of opinions of which are best just go with one you like any one of them is better than stock.

If this car is intended to be a daily driver, I would just do mild bolt-ons one at a time. Things that would swap directly over to a 350 later. Then, as you learn,either begin to build a new motor on an engine stand in your garage to swap in later, or just buy a shortblock and some heads. If the car has high mileage, start saving now for a transmission rebuild when the time comes. remember to match your components, low end torque cam+low end torque intake= lots of low end torque. top end HP cam+low end torque intake= less power/torque all over. and visa verse.

You are just like me when I got my licence 2 years ago and started driving my camaro lol. Start off with this. Go to autozone and buy the specter air cleaner for like $50. if your bored and have the tools. do the ulitmate TBI mod 2 alsoexhuast. factory exhuast just sucksDO NOT JUST TAKE IT ALL OFF. been there done that. trust me.get a cat back or even better get a full headers to tip exhuast done.you will feel alittle fasterLT1 cam. do it. it will help a good 20-30 hp. no i havent done it yet but i want tointake. RMP performer intake will dogears. great time to add posi to. i recomend 3.23s or 3.42 if automatic. dont go any hire

you should start with tuning and end with tuning, it's the only way to make the most of your mods, and adjusting fuel pressure higher is not tuning, it's a band-aid at best. I already linked you to two proven ECM upgrades in an earlier post.

First off, a SBC is a SBC is a SBC, headers and intakes for a 305 fit a 350, a 1 5/8 primary tube header won't hurt a 305 or kill power on a 350. Same for the intakes, it doesn't matter.
where are you getting radical idle from?? I told him to pick a cam that peaks by 4500 rpms to match the swirl port heads.
the motor that Fast355 built that I linked him to was just to show that power is possible with tbi.

not even a cam??? are you joking? the stock 305 tbi cam is probably the smallest cam GM has ever produced! ya, the turbo's will help, but why bother for 220 hp? I can get that N/a with a 350 and swirl ports! a turbo kit on an L03 would be all show no go.
aftermarket cam? I mention a cam swap, but I don't think I said aftermarket in my entire post, what about the LT1 cam or the L98 cam or a used LT4 cam? an LO3 unless swapped from a truck would have a roller cam factory, so any factory roller cam can be swapped in, and any new or used aftermarket hyd roller cam.

Computer modding? plenty of guys tune their own computers Using Rbob's EBL and WIN ALDL. in fact, the ECM would be the most expensive part of the build, and you forget to mention that the Twin turbos would require a TON of TUNING too!
As for throttle bodies, I have two of them in my garage, with all of the ultimate mods, and even polished up kinda nice that I'd sell him for $50 a pop, then I've got a 454 TBI I'd sell him for a little more.
305's incredibly weak? where are you from? I've only been able to blow one up,( I've had 4) and all of mine have had over 150000 miles on them, hell, my K5 blazer's 305 had 210000 on it when I sold it and it was running strong, headers intake carb full exhaust, I was going to put a cam in it, but I decided I wanted a camaro so I sold it. hell, the small bore would make the pistons stronger than a comparable 350 piston because the wrist pin supports more of it.

i think i understand what ericjon is saying. getting a general idea of how the engine works and its components will help you better understand why you are putting the parts on the car that you are. i am only 20 years old and have absolutely no mechanical background. everything i know about cars i learned from reading forums, magazines, books, and anything else i can get my hands on. i will be the first to admit that i know very little compared to most everybody on this site. i am here to learn and i am in the process of tearing apart my 85 iroc and it is a learning expirience. you did it right by coming here with questions though. there are a lot of knowledgable people on this site and they can offer a lot of good advice. unfortunatley sometimes people disagree and they start arguements which do not help out people like you and i that are trying to learn. both ericjon and shadow z have very good suggestions about possible options with your car but ultimately it is your car and you have to build it how you want it so understanding what you are putting on the car will help you with your build. good luck with your car and keep us posted on how it turns out.

oh and i didnt get it as a gift, i bought it about a few weeks before thanksgiving for 500. it needs alot of body and interior work and since i cant drive it yet i wanted to fix it up and make it nice before i get on the road. the person that had it b4 i could tell had no idea what they were doing, (less then me) its a good project car, and hey, it runs =] lol
Im no help in this field because well...Im 16 and I also have the same question as you. :P
