3rd Gen Serpentine System Qs
3rd Gen Serpentine System Qs
Hello,
I have aqquired a 3rd gen serpentine system and wasnt thinking when it was taken apart.
1. Does anyone have a diagram of where all the bolts go?
2. Is the water pump a short or long design?
3. Is the PS pump pulley pressed on or just held on by the hex shape bolt?
Thanks a ton!!

the power steering pump pulley is press on. the hex fitting inside the shaft is to help prime the pump by spinning it counter clockwise. ALSO i think, i not sure, but GM did press on in case of shaft lockup. common on hydraulic pumps

yeah get the puller at autozone, like 20 bucks to rent, it looks like this pic ive included. instructions on the box. . Ive included a link to help aide in the removal, the process is the same as in the link regardless if it for a jeep, it works on our pumps too. http://www.stu-offroad.com/steering/...pspulley-1.htm
to install the pulley, theres a tool included in the autozone puller kit that threads into the powersteering pump's shaft, evenly and slowly and evenly turn a adjuster nut till it wont turn and the shaft is flush with the pulley like how it is before removal.
