First I want to mention I understand that with different mechanics the time to take it to get done differs therefor the cost may vary along with their prices
Now... my main problem, I had back late last year, bought an 86 Berlinetta 305 4bbl with an edlebrok on it. I had my gf's father come over to look at it since I'm a nub to this stuff, then I also had the space to work on the car and money. He's a mechanic himself, been for over 40 years or so, not too sure, but yeah, been doin it a while and got quite a name for himself. I'd have him just do it but his time and space limits him to take on aditional tasks.
He basically said that it sounded like an internal vacuum leak the way the maro started and idled and sputtered in a press from the pedal, if tuned just right, it would idle but very rough, and not, it wouldn't stay running, I'd have to hold the gas. Just to add, no holes on the top, hoses all plugged in the right places and such, so that was why he came to that conclusion, even after checking the firing order, new wires and plugs.
If this is the case, my question is, what would a base or average cost for this kind of repair for it probably run me?
