crank machined and endplay question
I had my 305 bored and crank turned .010 and this is my first build for my own engine. Just installed bearings and checked clearances with plastiguage and everything was in spec. Torqued the main caps and set up the dial indicator to measure endplay. spec is .002'' to .006''.
My endplay is .007''.
should I bother to correct this and how would i go about doing so?
Also should I have the oil pump installed when checking clearances?
I think it will be fine but just need a second opinion from someone has built a few more engines than me.

Re: crank machined and endplay question
I wouldn't worry about an extra .001" of endplay. There's not a lot you can do about it anyway. Measure the clearance on the rear main with the oil pump bolted in place and torqued down.

what if the oil hole doesnt line up exact with the thrust bearing is that a problem at all? its a little bit off.
