High Flow TPI Install, Now wont idle

I just installed a TPIS Bigmouth Intake manifold and a set of TPIS/AS&M runners on my car and now the car will start right up and die. It will try to stay running if you give it gas but it still won't run like it should. My question is can it be stalling because I didn't make any changes to the PROM or is it likely that I purchased a set of the AS&M runners with the warped flanges?

Re: High Flow TPI Install, Now wont idle

well there could be a few things that come to mind. First off, I'm assuming that all of the sensors and vacuum lines are connected properly. Did you disconnect the battery during this process? You should attempt to set the IAC according to factory specs. If this doesn't correct the issue I would check for possible vacuum leaks. Normally you will not have to make corrections in the chip for the replacment of an intake especially on a MAF car. They are reasonably forgiving as far as replacing intake bases and runners. I'm not stating that this is absolutely not your problem but I would think you should be ok. I noticed there are quite a few mods listed as far as the cam etc, were these already installed before the intake swap? or did you add all of these components at once?

Re: High Flow TPI Install, Now wont idle

Well I finally got the car back to running again. I can now tell that I have a vacuum leak. It sounds like it could be coming from the 9th injector. I guess my MAF sensor is bad also because the car will now stall when it is plugged in but will stay running when unhooked. Those other mods were already installed before this inatke swap.

I still can not find the vacuum leak on my car. It sounds as if it is coming from around the 9th injector area. Any suggestions on where it might be coming from?

Re: High Flow TPI Install, Now wont idle

When I installed my Accel LTR's it ran like crap. I had a guy look at it and he ended up having to epoxy a tube in the driver's side runner. It was a tiny tube going up one of the runners but there was no hole in the manifold for it to draw air from. That is what happened with mine, a nasty vacuum leak.

The O ring is not missing but the metal flange looks a little out of shape. I am going to take it apart again tomorrow and see what I can find.

Re: High Flow TPI Install, Now wont idle

I fixed the leak. I had a newer style plenum on it and it was leaking from one of the egr holes in the runners that wasn't covered.
