distributor bushings?

I've seen these listed in parts sections before, but never gave much thought to it, but now have my distributor apart, and don't remember seeing anything like these in there. Is there a chance that the originals are/were so far deteriorated that I didn't even notice them? Anyone know anything about them?

Re: distributor bushings?

uhh, that's a new one on me? I can't recall where the bushing would go...? I've had mine apart, shimmed out the end play, etc, but I don't recall there being replacable bushings ?

Re: distributor bushings?

They go on the post for the weight to pivot on. Not all weights use them.

Re: distributor bushings?

A GM HEI distributor has bronze shaft bushings. I have changed out bushings that showed wear on the opposite side from the cam gear thrust forces. I ground light diagonal oil grooves in the new bushings opposite the gear side of the shaft before installation for better lubrication of the bushings. I don't know if all dizzys are like this, but I would think so.
